        2002 Neohio Rally Rules

2001 NEOHIO Road Rally Championship:

Intent: The NEOHIO Region SCCA Road Rally Championship is intended to serve as a training ground to revitalize Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) road rallying in and around northern Ohio (and beyond), and provide a competition venue to that end.

Eligibility: Entry is open to all, but only members of NEOHIO Region SCCA (regular or dual) will be eligible for season-end awards.

Competition classes: Standard SCCA classes E/L/S will be used for championship purposes. Organizers may declare additional classes (Novice, Vintage, etc.) as they see fit.

Compliance: All rallies will conform to the conventions for Regional rallies set forth in the current SCCA Road Rally Regulations (RRR’s).

Season: All NEOHIO Region TSD rallies run in a calendar year will count toward that year’s championship.

Pointskeeping: The region rally chairman will maintain records of points standing throughout the year, and periodically submit updates of same for publication in the region newsletter and on the region website.

Points will be awarded for in-class finishes at each rally according to the following schedule:

1st in class - Greater of: 10 points, or # of cars in class.
2nd in class - Greater of: 9 points, or # of cars in class minus 1.
3rd in class – Greater of: 8 points, or # of cars in class minus 2.
Etc.

The number of finishes that each competitor may count toward a championship will be equal to the next greater integer than half of the number of rallies in the series (i.e. If there are 5 rallies in the series, then a competitor may count his 3 best finishes.).

Ties within a class will stand unbroken, and duplicate points will be awarded without vacating any positions.

Organizer points: In recognition of the effort expended to organize a rally, and the sacrifice of an opportunity to compete for points, each rallymaster, and up to two of his designees will be credited with points equivalent to a first-in-class-of-his-choice finish for his event.

Work requirement: Each competitor will be required to work at least one series rally to be eligible for season end awards. This requirement can also be met by volunteering to operate "work/run" controls at 3 or more series rallies.
